Health Care Reform: Contraceptive Coverage – Exemptions for Employers with Religious and Moral Objections
The ACA requires non-grandfathered health plans to cover women’s preventive health services, including contraceptives, without cost-sharing. Churches and other houses of worship are not required to comply with the ACA’s contraceptive coverage mandate. Certain employers who object to covering contraceptives based on sincerely held religious beliefs or moral convictions are also exempt.
